When you take a look around and see what is going on today with gasoline and home heating oil , you have to believe alternative and renewable energy sources must play a major role in meeting future energy demands. Just how large a role depends on many factors, some of which are advances in technology, economic viability and probably the biggest obstacle… public acceptance?

Japan’s Sharp Corp., the world’s largest producer of solar cells, expects the cost of generating solar power to halve by 2010 and be on-par with nuclear power by 2030. Sharp’s president, Katsuhiko Machida, told Reuters.
